IGTC Course: Systematic Basin Study for Opportunity Identification
@ The 101 Hotel Suryakancana, Bogor
@ 17-19 November 2017
As a part of OliNesia Training Division side by side with GEx, in November IGTC+ has launched another succesful course which was combined with workshop. This three-day course is an introduction to play based exploration using geology for making business decision. Objective of the course is to give understanding to participants on play evaluation process and hands-on skill on identifying prospective areas for exploration. The course was attended by participants with various level of experience. The course and workshop were led by a professional and senior in exploration geology, Mr. Herman Darman, who has more than twenty years of wide range exploration experiences from near field to frontier setting, both onshore and offshore.
The course addressed the principle of exploration, exploration methods and petroleum system elements. Play mapping and Common Risk segment mapping were introduced and discussed with participants along with dry hole analysis. To get better understanding, the instructor gave a case study in the workshop. Participants were divided into several groups and each group was to present the result in front of other participants. With this method, we expect the course to bring an inclining learning curve for participants.
We expect that participants have enjoyed the knowledge transfer at the course and the practice in the workshop. And we hope that the course brings an added value to their career life. We look forward to the next course of IGTC+ to follow the success of "Systematic Basin Study for Opportunity Identification" in delivering the material and at the same time gathering positive recognition from participants.
OliNesia would like to thank all of participants for their active contribution in the class. Special thanks to PPPTMGB LEMIGAS who has contributed in the course. May the success be with all of you in your career.
